Madison finalemente lanzo su album doble A Hilton Double Shot conteniendo 2 soundboards de 1972 y 1973 respectivamente. En esta onda de relanzamientos de conciertos clasicos, pero con sonido mejorado, los albumes escogidos para esta oportunidad son "I'll remember you" y "Don't think twice".
I'll remember you es penultimo show del Summer Festival de 1972, Elvis aun canta concentrado en cada cancion y ofrece nuevo repertorio con canciones como Fever, My way y You gave me a mountain.
Sobre el segundo show, para Enenro de 1973, Elvis se hallaba en la cima del mundo, Elvis On Tour acababa de ganar el Globo de Oro, Burning Love esta en el Top Ten y el especial de Elvis en Hawaii se habia convertido en el primer show transmitido Via Satelite para el mundo entero. De manera que el rey regresaba a Las Vegas como aquel guerrero ganador de mil batallas.

Maginifico material filmico de un buen show. Cabe recordar que para el primer tour de 1976 Elvis habia intentado volver a lo puro, es decir mejorar su calidad interpretativa pronunciando cada palabra de cada cancion sobre el escenario en vez de ir como una locomotora cancion tras cancion.
Sobre la calidad de la imagen, bueno, no es el In Concert, pero aun podemos estar seguros que se trata de Elvis quien sale en el video. Enjoy!

En este DVD conoceremos el entorno más íntimo del rey, recordado con el nombre de “La Mafia de Memphis”, y nos adentraremos en los últimos momentos antes de que el ídolo se encuentre con la muerte en una habitación de hotel el 15 de Agosto de 1977. Saber dónde reside la verdad acerca de la muerte de Elvis es todo un misterio. Según este documental gran parte de la decadencia de Elvis fue culpa de su manager, el coronel Tom Parker quien organizaba giras agotadoras para solventar sus propias deudas de juego. La historia se inicia con varios datos sobre su vida: Su nacimiento en Memphis, su vida como un joven apuesto, carismático y pleno de un encanto característico de la gente del Sur y su primer éxito en Sun Studios “That's alright mamma” (1954). Luego, se da a conocer a los integrantes y más cercanos aliados de la “Mafia de Memphis”. Sony West y Lamar Fike remarcan el decadente estilo de vida que llevó Elvis entre bares, casinos y habitaciones de hotel, lo que hacía muy difícil seguir su ritmo de vida y destacan su enorme apetito por el sexo, las drogas y el rock and roll. No se puede dejar de lado su conocido amor por el arte culinario: comida meridional, crujientes pancetas, tomates en rodajas y salsas vanguardistas que lo convertirían en un aficionado de la cocina. Durante los últimos años, si bien estuvo sometido a rigurosos cuidados médicos debido a su alta presión, su exceso de peso y sus problemas cardíacos, su adicción a las drogas se agudizó. Quizás mucho de estos datos ya sean públicamente conocidos pero lo que hace más interesante este material es la influencia del Coronel Parker en la vida de Elvis quien fue descrito por Fike como el jugador y estafador más grande que se pudiera conocer, alguien que perdía millones en una noche y que veía en Elvis una máquina de hacer dinero y la salida perfecta a sus deudas. Además de algunos nuevos detalles sobre su historia, en este DVD conoceremos un sinfín de homenajes, la adulación y el silencio de sus amistades más cercanas, quienes en cierta manera oscurecieron la verdad. Una vez más, queda demostrado que Elvis se ha convertido en una de las leyendas más enigmáticas de la historia del rock, donde los misterios son tan importantes como los hechos.

El mix en cada track ha sido bellamente editado de manera que tenemos aqui un sonido distinto a lo que nos ofrece Sony BMG. Inclusive los ultimos albumes de FTD no pueden igualar, en mi humilde opinion, al sonido de este grandioso bootleg.
Hasta antes del lanzamiento de Pot Luck por parte de la casa oficial, este bootleg contenia en su disco 1 la unica version de la toma 9 de Fountain of love, esta por cierto es bastante especial ya que es diferente a la toma final 10 (master take), escuchenla y veran de lo que hablo. Enjoy!

El talentosisimo señor Javier Talens mas conocido como JTA y Ramon Sempere nos sorprendieron con esta coleccion, la cual, en mi humilde opinion, nada que envidiar tiene a la de Dj Ethan.
JTA, la productora, lanzo el proyecto basado en remixes desde el concierto en Memphis en 2002 por el 25 aniversario hata las sesiones para el On tour, estos muchachos han hecho un excelente trabajo de manera que canciones que parcen casi olvidadas del catalogo del rey cobran nueva vida y sonido y algunas se han colado entre las favoritas de muchos.
Desde aqui un saludo y un fuerte abrazo a mi amigo Jose Manuel Garcia quien publico todos los discos de sus compatriotas de manera que puedo compartirtlos aqui. Enjoy
